About CyberShaman: A True Story

This story starts with a slow computer, the innocent victim of an overwhelming storm of Internet threats. Not just one but three different viruses were each busy exploiting Microsoft Windows XP security flaws and quickly dragging it to a snail pace. I got the call early in the morning, just after sunrise, that my client was having trouble accessing Internet and E-mail - slow and sluggish.

Within a few sluggish keystrokes and test commands I could literally feel this one out - viruses and spyware. At the time she had no protection against the storm of threats on the Internet and I didn't know how many or for how long they had been on her system. Without hesitation I entered the stormy cyberworld.

Chasing viruses down, sneaking up behind them, and confirming their identities were all part of the job. When the battle had been won and my client's computer secured against further attacks, I heard it so clearly and spontaneously, " your MY...(short pause)...CyberShaman." The name really resonated - balancing my intuitive approach to solving problems as a computer consultant with my knowledge and expertise in this field.

I give my client all the credit, and just for fun why not visit her on the web www.francenehart.com. She is truly a beautiful and talented woman.

That is the story of how Raymond Mata, IT Professional with over 10 years experience bringing us virtual freedom became Big Island of Hawaii's first CyberShaman. I am not the state's first CyberShaman, he can be found in Kaui enjoying the many fruits of his years of labor. Please visit his site for some truly great links and information on Hawaiian and other forms of shamanism in general.

CyberShaman has been busy, there have been many cyberspace explorers with wobbly spaceships and torn spacesuits. Virus prevention is only a small part of what the CyberShaman can do. Please visit the "Mission Statement" for more details.

I hope someday you can call us your MyCyberShaman. Big Island, East and West, has supported me for over six years. I'm proud and very grateful for this opportunity to serve you and our community. In the meantime I'll be working hard to bring us all Virtual Freedom.

Yours Truly,

Raymond D. Mata, a.k.a, CyberShaman.
